Robert John Hammond, Executive Producer / Director
Robert John Hammond is an accomplished screenwriter, author, and producer whose diverse body of work has garnered awards and acclaim across various creative platforms. A passionate storyteller and visionary filmmaker, he brings depth and authenticity to every project, inspired by his rich life experiences and a commitment to exploring the profound connections between faith, history, and humanity.
Hammond converted to Orthodox Christianity in 2016, following years of spiritual seeking that culminated in his discovery of the ancient faith. This transformative experience continues to shape his creative endeavors, particularly his work on the American Orthodox documentary, which highlights the origins and enduring legacy of Orthodoxy in America.
Hammond holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing and has shared his expertise as a professor of screenwriting and creative writing. Additionally, he served as editor and contributor to the anthology Roads Less Traveled: Journeys to Orthodoxy (Divine Ascent Press).
Silas Karbo, Director of Photography / Editor
Silas Karbo was the Producer / Co-Creator of the award winning documentary film Sacred Alaska. He has worked in film for more than seven years. Silas has produced multiple projects centered around the Orthodox Church for the OCA Diocese of the West, the Russian Choral Heritage Foundation and Holy Theophany Church. He also worked with the monastics on Spruce Island.
Karbo holds Bachelor of Innovation in Digital Film Making from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
Theodosius Santalov, Camera Operator / Assistant Editor
Theodosius Santalov is an Orthodox Christian and a U.S. Army Public Affairs Mass Communications Sergeant who has spent over 5 years working as a multimedia journalist covering DOD and NATO operations for various TV, radio, and social media platforms. He graduated with honors from the Defense Information School and has recieved several awards for his work in Europe and the U.S.
